Kazbek Akhmedyarov

Leading soloist

Graduate of Almaty Choreographic College named after A. Seleznev and West Kazakhstan State University. He trained at the Kazakh State Academic Theatre of  Opera and Ballet named after Abay in Almaty.

He is an award winner of International Competition of Ballet Dancers in Lausanne (Switzerland, 1996) and the winner of the first prize at the International Ballet Competition in Novosibirsk (Russia, 1999).

From 1999 to 2016 Kazbek worked as a soloist and principal in the famous ballet companies of France and Germany: the Theatre du Capitole in Toulouse, the Young ballet of France in Paris, the Hessian State Theatre of Wiesbaden, the German State Opera and Ballet Theatre, Saarbrucken. He danced in productions of the world famous choreographers: August Bournonville– “Napoli”, “La Sylphide” (James), “Flower Festival in Genzano”; George Balanchine – “Raymonda”, “Pas de Deux”, “Theme and Variations”, “Rubies”; Jiri Kylian – “Symphony of Psalms”, “Le Petit Mort”; Rudolf  Nureyev – “Don Quixote” (Basil, act III), “Swan Lake” (Siegfried, a Black Swan); Nacho Duato – “Por vos muero”; William Forsythe – The Vertiginous Thrill of Exactitude”; David Dawson –“А million kisses to my skin”; Uwe Scholz’s “Seventh Symphony”; Twyla Tharp – “Nine Sinatra Songs”; Michelle Ran – “Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland” (Jack of Hearts), “The Nutcracker” (Prince); “The Firebird” (Ivan Tsarevich); Nanette Glushak – “Don Quixote” (Bazil), “Giselle” (Albert), “Le Corsaire” (Slave); Jose Limon – “The Moor’s Pavane”; David Bombana – “Carmen”; Stijn Celis “Noces”; Enrique Martinez – “Coppelia”; Andre Prokovsky – “The Three Musketeers”; Mauricio Wainrot “The Rite of Spring”, “The Tempest ”.

Kazbek Akhmedyarov is working at the “Astana Ballet” Theatre as an assistant to choreographer since 2015. He also took a part in productions of one act ballets “Gaia”, “Love Fear Loss” and “A Fuego Lento”.
