The ballet was inspired by the glorious life and music of Edith Piaf. Each pas de deux takes you through the experience of a relationship, Love, Fear and Loss. Her music was a complete reflection of her life. In her early days it was her love songs that conquered the world. Her ‘Hymne à l’amour’ reflected how she and everyone else can feel at a beginning of a relationship. After marriage the struggle of relationships were prominent in most of her songs. Such a example of that was her mesmerising interpretation of ‘Ne me quitte pas’ which clearly showed fear. With the tragic loss of her husband, ‘Mon Dieu’ was one of the songs that most related to one of the strongest feelings that we can have – the loss of the loved ones. Edith Piaf is an amazing artist with internationally renowned songs; she was the mirror of every person’s life. A marvellous artist with such iconic songs, she was a mirror of everyone’s life. This is one of the strongest feelings that one can experience any of us lost loved ones. The song “Oh, my God!” due to the tragic death of her husband. She lost not just a loved one, she lost herself.
