One-act ballet-fantasy set to music by G. Bizet – R. Shchedrin

Carmen represents the original version of the eponymous novel by Prosper Merimee.. Each of the five dancers involved in the ballet tell about one side of a woman’s fatethrough the language of dance, and brought together,these stories turn into one story about the tragedy of female loneliness. Although the action ends on a minor chord, at the end of the performance the audience will feel light sadness, but not despair. In this ballet, choreography, music and visual arts of different trends complement each other. G. Bizet and R. Shchedrin’s music as well as videofootage based on the ideas of Suprematismand expressive and colorful plasticity become an organic component of the ballet.
