For the first time the tour of “Astana Ballet” Theatre will be held in the capital of Japan, Tokyo on October 5-7, 2016. The touring schedule includes two gala concerts.
During the years of independence, this is the first tour of the Kazakhstan Theatre in the capital of the Land of the Rising Sun. The opening of the tour will be held at “Tokyo Bunka Kaikan” concert hall, which is called “Cultural center of Tokyo”. “Astana Ballet” Theatre will present to the Japanese audience the Gala concert with the two performances by Brazilian choreographer Ricardo Amarante “A Fuego lento” and “Gaia” in the first part, and the fragments of the most famous ballets of the Theatre’s repertoire will be presented in the second.
Gala concert of the first touring day will give a chance to enjoy a wonderful atmosphere of music and dance, and will present the diverse work of young Kazakhstan team. “A Fuego lento” and “Gaia” are brilliant productions in neoclassical style, choreographic stories about love and the beauty of nature. It is noteworthy that the premiere of new production of Ricardo Amarante “A Fuego Lento” will be held at the Tokyo stage. One-act ballets shown all together give the opportunity to meet original repertoire of the company, its rich potential that allows to fulfill the performances, which are created in different directions and styles.
The second performance of “Astana ballet” Theatre will take place at another popular hall of the Japanese capital “Shinjuku Bunka Center”. This venue is located in the main administrative center of Tokyo, Shinjuku. The entire program of this gala is imbued with the Kazakh melodies and folklore. There will be presented such popular choreographic miniatures as “Arular” (“Beauties”) to the music of “Turan” ethno-folklore band; “The Dawn” to the music of Dauletkerey (a fragment from one-act ballet “Zhusan”); “Asem Konyr” to the music of Dina Nurpeisova and others.
These performances, as well as ballet fragments from the repertoire of “Astana Ballet” Theatre, give a chance to see how artists and directors extend the classical framework of musical and choreographic synthesis.
Two days “Astana Ballet” will present productions to Japanese audience, performances filled with not only finesse and elegance of ballet arts, but also rich of national motives. Ballet gala programs are unique; the performances promise many surprises to fans of the ballet. Tour of young, but widely known “Astana Ballet” Theatre will contribute to strengthening of relations between Kazakhstan and Japan, to contribute to the mutual enrichment of cultures and cooperation between the two countries.
